A journey through the Frost

Immerse yourself in 'A Touch of Frost', my signature series. This captivating collection features photos from the iconic TV show juxtaposed with my own contemporary shots of the same locations. Explore the journey, the locations across Yorkshire, United Kingdom, and the unique vision behind each photograph. See what remains, and mourn what is long gone.

Some episodes have been loosely based on stories from the following books.....Frost at Christmas, A Touch of Frost, Night Frost and Hard Frost

The 'A Touch of Frost' series captured my imagination after moving to Yorkshire. Inspired by a DeAgostini DVD of "The Appendix Man" episode in 2005, which revealed behind-the-scenes insights, I was so driven to try and find these iconic filming locations myself. Life's demands put this project on hold for a long time, but now, I'm dedicated to completing it and sharing my findings and images with you, my viewers, celebrating a piece of local history through my lens.

Sadly, due to copyright laws I am unable to show any images from the series itself.

The thrill of the chase

Discovering the filming locations for 'A Touch of Frost' has and continues to be an incredibly rewarding experience. There's a great sense of achievement standing where  David Jason and other A Touch Of Frost characters once stood. This project has opened my world, leading me to visit places in Leeds, and beyond, that I might never have thought to explore. It's fascinating to see how some of  these TV scenes have altered over the years.

Frost's familiar haunts

Among the many discoveries, finding the actual house of Detective Inspector Jack Frost was a standout moment. It's truly special to connect with the series on such a personal level. Equally surprising was realising that many filming locations were places I walk past regularly here in Yorkshire. These photographs capture that unexpected intimacy, blending the fictional world with everyday reality.

Beyond the screen, into the streets

My 'A Touch of Frost' series isn't just about nostalgia; it's a testament to how places evolve and memories endure. Each photograph tells a story, bridging the gap between a beloved TV series and the vibrancy of Yorkshire today. I invite you to explore these unique perspectives and see familiar scenes through a new lens.
